Our journey began in April 2019 when the Alliance for Positive Environmental Impacts and Reforestation (APEARE) was founded. The seeds of this remarkable non-governmental organization (NGO) were sown during an inspiring event, the 2014 American Association of Geographers My Community Our Earth (MyCOE/SERVIR) Capstone, held at the prestigious USAID and NASA headquarters in Washington DC, USA. APEARE was born from a passionate vision shared by individuals who recognized the pressing need to address climate change issues in their communities.
