Theme:Urban Resilience
Nigeria’s towns and cities are heating up, flooding more often, and losing green space. For the 2026/27 program year, APEARE will select three community project leads to implement projects that help their communities adapt to and withstand climate pressures in urban and peri-urban settings, such as heat, flooding, waste, degraded green space, or unsafe infrastructure.

Any project that helps an urban or peri-urban community adapt to climate pressures: cooling streets with trees, managing waste and drainage, restoring green space, or making shared infrastructure safer. The guidelines document walks you through how to frame your idea.
Every concept note is reviewed against the criteria in the guidelines. Shortlisted applicants are notified by September 11, 2026, and invited to a virtual interview before the three final candidates are selected.
