We're dedicated to understanding our forests better. Our teams undertake detailed subwatershed analysis and data-driven monitoring, evaluating the effects of wood-fuel production, the impact of anti-erosion practices, and the effectiveness of local governance structures. We believe in making informed decisions based on solid research.

At APEARE, our focus goes beyond simply identifying issues - we are committed to finding effective solutions. Through our innovative efforts in developing alternative wood fuels, creating incentives for forest-friendly activities, and implementing native tree planting and anti-erosion strategies, we strive to make a positive impact on the environment.

We are dedicated to offering support in the most crucial areas. Our efforts include enhancing supply chains for alternative wood fuels, promoting the implementation of innovative anti-erosion and tree planting methods, and reinforcing local structures for better governance.

About Us

Our journey began in April 2019 when the Alliance for Positive Environmental Impacts and Reforestation (APEARE) was founded. The seeds of this remarkable non-governmental organization (NGO) were sown during an inspiring event, the 2014 American Association of Geographers My Community Our Earth (MyCOE/SERVIR) Capstone, held at the prestigious USAID and NASA headquarters in Washington DC, USA. APEARE was born from a passionate vision shared by individuals who recognized the pressing need to address climate change issues in their communities.
