Apeare Green

This is the green energy forest initiative by Alliance for Positive Environmental Impacts and Reforestation (APEARE). Our goal is to restore degraded forests in Nigeria through agroforestry, native tree planting, and sustainable biomass and bioenergy production. We also focus on urban forestry and accelerating afforestation to support Nigeria’s Great Green Wall target.

Our Approach

1.) Agroforestry and Native Tree Planting: We employ agroforestry techniques, integrating trees into agricultural landscapes, to restore degraded lands. By planting native tree species, we enhance biodiversity, improve soil fertility, and create a sustainable ecosystem.

2.) Biomass and Bioenergy Production: APEARE promotes the sustainable production of biomass and bioenergy from renewable resources. Through responsible harvesting and processing methods, we ensure the preservation of forests while meeting the energy needs of local communities.

3.) Urban Forestry: We recognize the importance of green spaces in urban areas. APEARE focuses on creating and maintaining urban forests, which not only contribute to cleaner air and a healthier environment but also enhance the aesthetics and livability of cities.

4.) Accelerating Afforestation: Nigeria’s Great Green Wall initiative aims to combat desertification and improve land productivity. APEARE actively supports this initiative by accelerating afforestation efforts, planting trees, and restoring degraded lands to create a protective barrier against desert encroachment.
